Explore Crystal City's Craft Beverage Scene - 2 Day Tour

Day One,

Sure, you could jam pack all the delicious tasting spots into one day. But there’s so much more to experience you’re going to want to savor everything.

Explore The Corning Museum of Glass where you can sandblast your very own beer mug. Talk about a great way to make sure nobody mistakes your beer for theirs.

Enjoy the mix of eclectic architectural styles in this historic downtown which has been emulated by Main Streets across the country. The Crystal City offers cute boutiques and great food, like the serious southern BBQ you’ll find Nickels Pit BBQ. They also have a nice selection of local craft brews on tap.

After all, this tour is about the deliciousness found in a glass (or a crowler perhaps).

The most recent addition to Corning’s Craft brew scene, Liquid Shoes has been delivering clever names and top-notch brews like Big Abe’s Brown, Mud Bean Stout, and the aptly named Liquid Gold, since they opened in 2019.

Spend the night at Staybridge Suites. Lots of room, but and the best part is being next door to Iron Flamingo. The Mocha Coffee Porter is dark, full-bodied, and de-lish. See for yourself why Wegmans carries their beers.

Day Two,

Just a five-minute-drive from downtown Corning, stretch your legs and soak up the healing aspects of nature with a morning or afternoon hike at nearby Spencer Crest for a casual walk through the woods or Houghton Land Preserve for hikeable trails and beautiful valley views.

Grab lunch downtown at the first micro-brewery in the area, Market Street Brewing, which has been a staple here since 1997. With a rotation of six beers brewed in-house, the Brewpub offers a great combination of locally crafted food and drink, as well as rooftop seating and a biergarten during warmer months.

Then stop by Four Fights, Corning’s first distillery. Do a tasting before settling in for a delicious Corning Mule made with Crystal City Vodka and Ithaca Ginger Beer. And the bourbon? Smoooooth!

So many choices for dinner. Thank you, Hand + Foot for Tostones and fried buttermilk chicken sandwich and that fat (as in huge) drink menu, including craft brews from around the world.
