Springtime events in April are celebrating just a few of the things that make Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes so wonderful. Arts and culture, wine, and family fun can be discovered this month through the whole area.
The Finger Lakes are synonymous with wine, and at the Tapas and Wine Weekend on the Keuka Lake Wine Trail you'll sample some of the very best the Finger Lakes has to offer. Guests are invited to travel along beautiful Keuka Lake and visit wineries for samples of Finger Lakes made wines paired with sweet and savory appetizers. Discover all the different forms of art that you can view, experience, or in some cases take part in during Arts in Bloom. Explore this open Studio and Gallery Trail, April 28th from 10am-7pm, and April 29th from 12-5pm. Two main components of the event will allow artists to showcase their work. Visitors can partake in individual studio tours of a private art studios or workspaces, full of work in progress, inspiration, creativity and work available for purchase. The second part of the event take place in public spaces through Steuben County featuring non-visual artists like poets, musicians, and dancers. Get more involved and let your creative side bloom and take a mini instructional session offered by a local artist. Arts in Bloom gives visitors and inside look at different types of art and culture in Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes, and you won't want to miss it.
School is out for Spring Break and local museums are the perfect way to spend time together as a family. The Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum are offering special events and workshops April 23rd-27th. At The Corning Museum of Glass make your own glass or go on an art hunt. At The Rockwell take part is special workshops being held all week. As always kids 17 and under are free!
