October is quickly approaching which means runners all over the country are getting in their final training and finalizing their plans for the 38th Guthrie Wineglass Marathon. The race will bring close to 3,000 runners from all over the country and parts of the world to Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes October 4th-6th to make the picturesque run from Bath to Corning. The official marathon and half-marathon is October 6th, but there is plenty of fun to be had before and after the race.

The weekend starts with the Wineglass Marathon Expo at the Corning Museum of Glass on Friday, October 4th from 12pm-7pm and October 5th from 10am-7pm. In addition to picking up your bib and Wineglass swag, check out the various vendors set up selling anything you could want and need. From experiences to apparel, health and fitness, and food, you'll find it all. Find a list of Expo vendors here. Meet special guests for the weekend four-time Olympic marathoner, Meb Keflezighi, and Bart Yasso.

Special guest for the weekend Meb Keflezighi, a refugee from war-torn East Africa, is the only athlete in history to win the New York Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and an Olympic Medal. Over his storied career he has completed 26 marathons. Meet him in a small-town setting during the Expo and at the pasta dinner.

The Wineglass Marathon Pasta Dinner will be Saturday, October 5th at 5:30pm at the Radisson Hotel Corning. The all you can eat pasta buffet, will be followed by a presentation by Meb Keflezighi and Bart Yasso. Tickets are available for purchase at The Information Center of Corning. The St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 122 Liberty Street in Bath will also be hosting a spaghetti dinner 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Tickets are available for $10 at the door.

Before or after the race discover all there is the to do in Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes.
