A Love of the Land, Nature and the Hunt
Located on a 2,500 acre family farm in Canisteo, ABC Ranch is owned and operated by Dr. A. Byron Collins who has been raising Black Baldy and Hereford cattle for 50 years. His son, cider-maker, Kevin Collins manages the hunting cabins. “Steuben County is home to arguably the best fair chase Whitetail Deer Hunting in the country,” says Kevin. “Our property is a farm surrounded by farms like ours—a blend of hardwoods, fields, ravines, hills, streams, brush lots, pines, and pasture lots—which makes it the perfect habitat for growing healthy, trophy bucks.” There are two main camps on the property in Canisteo and each comes with the right to hunt 1,000 acres of land that is farmed with food plots throughout the year. Kevin combines a lifetime of hunting experience, what he learned from his older brother Chip, who first opened the farm to other hunters twenty-one years ago, as well tips about the best techniques for managing the expansive property from experts like Kyle Hunt and Clede Spooner from The Pursuit Channel’s Struttinbuck to provide hunters the best chance for success.
