Steuben Is Music For The Soul

Ever notice how music can change your mood? How you don’t just hear it, but feel it, too? From the physical vibrations to the way it can touch your soul.

Music is, at once, a very personal experience. Yet it can also be one of the most remarkable things to share with others. Especially a live performance.

We get how important music can be. How it can make you feel understood. Or less alone. How some songs seem like they were written just for you. How they can connect you to memories, to emotions, to yourself, and to each other.

“There’s no better way to take advantage of the Rochester-area summer than with a glass of FLX wine
and some of the region’s finest musicians. . . . Point of the Bluff Vineyards in Hammondsport for an evening
of dancing and imbibing.” - Emmarae Stein, Rochester City Newspaper

In recent years, Steuben has not so quietly been establishing itself as a great place to find and experience music. During summer and fall, in particular, you can enjoy an abundance of live musical performances happening throughout the county.

From Grammy-winners and international sensations in concert at Point of the Bluff’s Pavilion to local artists and regional favorites playing smaller venues like craft breweries and wineries.

“The distillery has ample room inside, on the deck, and out on the lawn. They often have food trucks and live music, so it’s an all-around great spot to hang out and enjoy a drink – or a few. And yes, they are also dog-friendly.” - Danielle Benjamin, Wanderlust on a Budget

From fiddle players reimagining the tunes of Southern Appalachia at Farm Markets to the elegant string sounds of chamber music at world-class museums.

From annual ethnic events featuring the traditional music and dance of various cultures ranging from Native Nations to India. Steuben is Music!

Of course, other communities throughout Steuben also have free music, like Corning’s Music in the Square most Thursdays during July and August held in Centerway Square. Bath has its own Music in the Park every Wednesday in July from 5:30-7:30pm in Pulteney Park.
