About
With more than 10 miles of trails open dusk-to-dawn year-round, Tanglewood offers scenic hikes through the woods as well as the chance to experience wildlife and to learn (when the Nature Center is open).
Dog-lovers will be glad to know one of the trails has been designated dog-friendly (Personius Woods), though other trails are not so please check the website ahead of time.
Located in Mark Twain Country, you can tell Tanglewood is a labor of love, from well-kept trails with a sprinkling of literary quotes to the over three-dozen rehabilitated animals found here. You will find trails for all ability levels from a children’s trail to the Mark Twain View Trail which is more challenging, but offers beautiful views at the end.
Of course, the real payoff comes later when you visit one of nearby craft breweries like Upstate Brewing or Horseheads Brewing.

Quote:
“We chose the Red Trail, also known as the Twain Trail for its sprinkling of quotes by
famous authors relating to nature and health. . . . We were thrilled with our choice when
we made it to the scenic overlooks over the Chemung River Valley from Frenchman’s
Bluff, one of our best views of the trip.” - Alex Baackes, Alex in Wanderland
