The Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink
The Nasser Civic Center Ice Rink has an exciting skating season ready for the whole family. The rink is open mid-November through mid-March (weather dependent.)
Make sure to check out the rink over the holiday season as they have extended public skating hours.
Rental skates are available in child sizes 6 through adult 14 in both hockey and figure skating styles.

Admission Fees
Safety is a priority and the rink has implemented some guidelines.
• Skaters have the option of pre-registering for a skating session utilizing our online registration system. This system offers a contactless payment option. We will also be accepting walk-ins until we reach our operating capacity.
• Skaters are asked to follow social distancing measures at all times during their visit to the rink.
• Face coverings are encouraged for anyone in the rink facility.
• Cleaning will take place between each session.

Open Public: This session is open to all ages
Family & Adult Skating: Children MUST be accompanied by an adult. This session is recommended for individuals with small children.

Private Group or Party Rink Rental
The rink is available to rent for private use for hockey, broomball, skating parties for birthdays, school & church group skating, etc. Different slots are available each week and must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Skates are included in all rink rentals. Please call the recreation department to book a private rental. 607-962-0340 Ext. 7

Ice Skating Lessons
Ice skating lessons are offered for all ages & ability levels. Each lesson period is one hour, divided into a 15-minute warm-up period, 30 minutes of instruction, and a 15-minute practice period. A fee of $8.50 is charged for each lesson. The fee includes rental skates if needed. No lessons will be available during the holiday period.
Skill Levels:
Beginner Bears: Is for children who have never skated and those needing to work on basic skills.
Tiger Tots: Will cover more challenging skills, but still focuses on fun and games to learn.
Bronze Medal Level: This level is for beginning and novice skaters and covers balance and form, gliding, sculling, forward stroking, and snowplow stops.
Silver Medal Level: Features intermediate skills, including forward crossovers, basic backwards skating and turning, edge use and stops.
Gold Medal Level: Covers advanced skating skills. Students have a choice to focus on advanced hockey or figure skating skills.

Mondays: (4-year-old & older) ..... 3:30 – 4:30 pm & 4:30 – 5:30 pm
Tuesdays: (4-year-old & older) ..... 3:45 – 4:45 pm
Wednesdays: (4-years old & older) ..... 3:30 – 4:30 pm ..... (3-year-olds only) 4:30 – 5:00 pm
Youth Hockey
The Youth Hockey Program focuses on skating, skill development and FUN! Trained coaches and skating instructors are there to work with the children. The purpose of the program is to introduce youngsters to the thrilling sport of ice hockey! The rink teaches skating, game fundamentals, and hockey skills such as stick handling, passing, and shooting. The programs covers boys and girls ages 4 – 14 years old. All groups are no-check!
TOT HOCKEY I: Ages 4 – 5 ..... Wednesdays 5:00 – 5:45 pm
This is a learn to skate program, with a hockey theme and focuses on basic skills and fun. Required equipment includes helmet with face mask, hockey shin guards & elbow pads. Fee is $75.00 per child and begins on Wednesday, November 30.
TOT HOCKEY II: Ages 5 – 6 ..... Tuesdays 5:00 – 5:45 pm
This program is for graduates of Tot Hockey I or our Bears Skating Program and will focus on basic skills and fun. Required equipment includes helmet with face mask, hockey shin guards, gloves & elbow pads. Fee is $75.00 per child and begins on Tuesday, November 29.
SHARKS DIVISION: Ages 6 – 7 ..... Mondays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm
This program combines basic hockey instruction with fun. Kids must be tot hockey of Tigers graduates or able to skate on their own to enter this program. Required equipment includes helmet with face mask, elbow pads, hockey shin guards and hockey gloves. Fee is $100.00 per child and begins Monday, November 21.
RANGERS DIVISION: Ages 7 – 9 ..... Saturdays, 8:00 – 10:00 am
Focus in on skating and hockey skill development and will include some scrimmages throughout the season. Required equipment includes helmet with face mask, mouth guard, elbow pads, hockey shin guards, neck guard & pants, stick and hockey gloves. Fee is $125.00 per child and begins on Saturday, November 26.
SABRES DIVISION: Ages 10 – 14 ..... Thursdays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm ..... Saturdays, 10:30 – 12:30 pm
This program focuses on learning teamwork and offers skill building and frequent scrimmages. Full hockey equipment is required. Fee is $160.00 per child and begins on Saturday, November 26.
Other Services
Skate Sharpening
Skates can be dropped off any day of the week to be sharpened and will be done with-in two days for $8.00. Skates left over 10 days - $20.00
