2023 Wineglass Marathon Race Series

September 30th & October 1st, 2023 • Corning, NY

42nd ANNUAL GUTHRIE WINEGLASS MARATHON

Sunday October 1, 2023

For years, the Wineglass Marathon has been a bucket-list event for accomplished runners and for newbies being named one of the Top 10 Destination Races in the world, one of the "Worlds 25 Best Marathons," and voted the Best Marathon in the New York State by runners (RaceRave).

The point-to-point course is flat and fast and personal records tend to fall. That speed, as well as the stunning scenery, also make the Wineglass one of the most popular spots to qualify for the Boston Marathon

Not to be outdone, the Wineglass Half Marathon was voted #3 of the "10 best half-marathons across the nation for 2023" as part of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards.

Each year, the Wineglass Race Series (which includes the Wineglass 8K, Storflex 5K, Wegman’s Wineglass Half-Marathon, and Guthrie Wineglass Marathon) draws people from nearly every state and from multiple countries around the world.

Beyond the Race

Here are just some ideas for what to do beyond the race.

“. . . with all the breweries, distilleries, ice-cream shops and dairy farms you can turn into your own
beer/cheese/ice-cream/whatever crawl, it's a pretty great foodie destination.” - Regan Stephens, Philly Mag

Let’s not forget that this is also where one of the world’s premiere wine destinations got its start.

About a half-hour drive from Corning, is the small town of Hammondsport (not that far from the marathon start line), Finger Lakes Wine took root nearly 200 years ago and it’s there that you will find some of the wineries and winemakers that have helped the region receive so much acclaim the past few years. It’s where you’ll discover the past and the future of wine.
