About

You may say we're full of hot air, but we think you'll love the New York State Festival of Balloons. Celebrating its 36th year, this unique display of hot air balloons is a Labor Day tradition in the Southern Finger Lakes. Whether you dream of taking flight, or prefer to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground, head to Dansville this Labor Day weekend for an unforgettable experience sure to entertain and amaze.

Balloon Glow

Kick the weekend off by soaking in the magical glow of dozens of hot air balloons floating in the night sky. Grab a seat on the grounds of the Brae Burn Golf Course on Thursday, August 30 at 8:30 p.m. to enjoy the show.

Balloon Launches

A lot of careful coordination and planning goes into a hot air balloon launch, but getting off the ground is half the fun! With six demonstrations planned throughout the weekend, you'll have plenty of opportunities to experience these beautiful balloons taking flight. Then, follow them through the sky as they soar high above the Finger Lakes. In addition to the balloon-themed activities, there will also be a number of talented artisans, food vendors, rides and games for children, and a car show on the grounds. There is an entrance fee of $5.00 per person. Admittance for children under 12 is free.

TETHERED RIDES

Get a taste of the sky by taking a tethered balloon ride (weather permitting.) You'll gain a unique perspective of the beautiful Finger Lakes landscape and get an idea of what a real balloon ride would be like! This is a great first step for those interested in a full hot air balloon tour.

While the New York State Festival of Balloons is the Labor Day showstopper, there is lots more to explore in Corning and the Southern Finger Lakes. Book a room in nearby Hornell and start planning the rest of the weekend's excursions today!
