Crystal City Tour
At one time there were over 20 cut glass shops in Corning earning it the name “America's Crystal City.” Since then, the town has been built around a culture of glass (innovation, art, events).
Sure, for the craft beer lover, it's about filling and emptying a totally different kind of glass one smooth brew at a time. This tour has you covered!
First Tasting Room: Liquid Shoes
• Start on historic Market Street at Liquid Shoes, a small batch brewery exploring the potential beer can become. Enjoy a vintage atmosphere and exceptionally good beers like always in-demand staples Kung Fu Bicycle (for IPA lovers) and easy drinking Big Abe's Brown, as well as their latest creation in the Squeeze Series (succulent sours). These guys got it going on.
Next on the List: Iron Flamingo
• Next stop, a small town craft brewery that is and always has been the spot locals go to for a tasty brew with friends. Iron Flamingo's Red Ale and Mocha Coffee Porter built their following, but specialty and seasonal brews like Fruit Stripe (sour), Killin' Me Smalls (stout) and Down the Rabbit Hole (IPA) keep surprising locals and visitors alike.
Followed by: Carey's Brew House
• Next is a two-story brewery restaurant where you can get a taste of the world. Carey's Brew House offers a wide selection of domestic beers, plus national and international craft brews, tasty creations by local guest brewers and their own in-house brews like their seasonal Pumpkin Ale and Fresh Start Harvest IPA.
Dinner & Drinks at Market Street Brewing
• The first craft brewery in Steuben County, Market Street Brewing (aka The Brewpub) has been providing popular in-house brews and exceptional food for over two decades. During warm months, the bier garden and rooftop seating offer beautiful outdoor seating where you can savor longstanding favorites D'artagnan (dark ale), Mad Bug Lager, and Wrought Iron Red with a tasty meal.
With exciting outdoor recreation opportunities nearby, you may want to extend your stay and make the most of your visit to the Crystal City.
Note: the Craft Your Adventure trail spans four counties and each has its own restrictions and guidelines. To assure yourself the best experience, you should always check with the brewery before going to learn about current safety protocols, hours of operation, to-go options, and more.
