Visit Corning, NY in the Finger Lakes

Voted Rand McNally's Most Fun Small Town in America!

What does it take to be named The Most Fun Small Town in America? Visit Corning, New York to find out! You'll find a sparkling city with beautiful architecture, the chance to make your own glass and scenic hiking trails across the Finger Lakes region.

"Life moves a little slower, food tastes a little sweeter and everything is just a bit simpler than in the place you left behind," Suzy Strutner wrote in The Huffington Post when she named Corning one of "America's Best Small Towns, Perfect For A Long Weekend Trip".

Known as America's Crystal City, Corning has long been at the forefront of all things glass, from innovative technology and science to the remarkable creations found at The Corning Museum of Glass, the world's largest museum of glass art and artifacts. But artisan glass is just one of the reasons Corning is so fun.

"Historic storefronts boasted trendy eateries, chic salons and bustling artists' studios that seemed to stretch for a mile. . . . This is the kind of American main street that movie makers scramble to recreate in studios." Alexandra Baackes, Alex in Wanderland

You'll get the chance to immerse yourself in historic antiquity with workshops and special events throughout the year.

A gaffer is a master glassblower, so the name is quite a fitting designation for the historic district of America's Crystal City. With more than a hundred shops, studios, galleries, and restaurants, as well as an abundance of unique and historic architecture, and awesome annual events like GlassFest— American Bus Association's 100 Best Events for 2016—Corning's Gaffer District is five blocks of flat-out-fun.
