Parade of Lights Selected As A Top Holiday Parade in New York State

Corning, NY - December 20, 2011 - Corning's Gaffer District is proud to recognize the annual Parade of Lights as one of the top holiday parades in New York State.

In a special holiday promotion, national media company Townsquare Media launched an inaugural survey to find the Top 5 Parades around New York State. Using only YouTube footage, the regional Utica-based station, WLZW-FM/Lite 98.7, chose the Crystal City and Parade of Lights in its elite category of seasonal celebrations.

This year's 17th annual parade was held on Saturday, November 26th, boasting a record-breaking crowd and field of event participants.

"In this year's inaugural survey, we researched holiday celebrations throughout the state with compelling YouTube videos," notes Eric Meier, brand manager for WLZW-FM in Utica, NY. "We're happy to include Corning in this year's recognition!"

In addition to Corning, the station chose parades in Olean, Schenectady, Oneonta and New York City for other top-spot contenders.
