CORNING'S SIXTH ANNUAL PUGFEST "SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH PUGS" Sunday, September 28, 2008 * Noon to 3 pm * Corning's Denison Park Pond Pavilion. Event organizers, the dePugma Brothers, the Russo Boyz and Beautiful Bijou invite other PUGS and the people they own to join them in Corning's Denison Park for the area's major fundraiser for PRoCNY. Pug Rescue of Central New York will be on hand with wonderful items and exciting raffles, but most important ... education for owners about Pug maintenance and care. Heather Edwards will be returning to showcase her beautiful line of custom & embroidered pet fashions, and locals will also recognize friends from Country HosPETality in Bath. From nutrition to notions, jewelry to scarf sets, these vendors will have every item the pug-lover needs. After the introduction parade, there will be prizes for the oldest, youngest, best wrinkles and curliest tail. "Silly-Pug-Tricks" is a great way to show off the talent, and as always, there is the Costume Competition! The "Run for the Cheese Race" has to be the most popular event. Yielding to pug pressure, there will be races for different age groups. Last year, over 150 pugs from Syracuse to Scranton were in attendance. Many have been training all year with hopes of returning to defend their titles. Come to the park and cheer them to victory! $ 5.00 per person or $8 per family donation is requested All PUGS and children under 12 are admitted free, but must be accompanied by adult. ...and yes...admission is required even if you don't bring a PUG ! ***Pugs must be over 12 weeks old and be current on all their shots*** PUGS & pug mixes ONLY PLEASE -other breeds may have their own festival at another time.
