Stars of the Industry Gala to honor the tourism industry's best
March 22, 2007 - This year, at the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association's (NYSH&TA) 2007 Annual Conference-Westchester Marriott, Tarrytown, NY, April 22-24, 2007-hospitality experts will discuss industry specific issues with more than 150 of the state's most prominent hoteliers. On April 23, panel discussions will focus on hospitality law issues, property insurance safeguards and human resource issues facing all types of business.
Delivering this year's keynote address on April 23 is Peter Yesawich, recognized worldwide as a spokesman for the tourism industry and for his insight on travel trends. His discussion will focus on the travel trends in New York State.
"This year we put together top-notch education sessions as part of our Annual Conference," said Daniel C. Murphy, NYSH&TA President. "The speakers will touch on some of the most pressing issues our industry faces today."
That same evening, at 7:00 p.m., thirty of the state's top tourism professionals-finalists for the statewide Stars of the Industry Award- will be the featured guests at the The Stars of the Industry Gala and Awards Banquet. This event honors employees of hotels, motels and tourism- related businesses throughout New York State who best represent the quality service and spirit of the tourism and hospitality industry. The finalists will be featured in personal video presentations, and the winner will be announced live during the banquet. Categories include, among others: Tourism Executive of the Year, Lodging Employee of the Year, Bellperson of the Year and Outstanding Roomkeeper of the Year.
"Our stars are the leaders in New York's tourism industry, and they play a pivotal role in helping to promote travel and tourism throughout the Empire State," said Murphy.
