Casa Larga Vineyards Supports 4th Annual New York Farm Day

Fairport, NY: On Tuesday, September 20, 2005, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted the 4th annual "New York Farm Day" in Washington D.C. in the elegant Senate Russell Caucus Room at the crest of Capitol Hill. Casa Larga Vineyards, Monroe County's only winery, was proud to represent the Rochester area. "Agriculture is one of New York's most vital industries, and we have so much to celebrate," Senator Clinton said. Agriculture is a $3.6 billon industry for the state, ranking New York among America's major agricultural states. New York is #2 in apples and maple syrup, #3 in wine, dairy, grapes, and corn silage, #4 in pears, and #5 in floriculture.

Ann Colaruotolo, owner of Casa Larga Vineyards, presented Senator Clinton with a bottle of the winery's 2005 Fiori Delle Stelle, Vidal Ice Wine, recent winner of the state's most prestigious wine award, the Governor's Cup, for the Best Wine in New York State. With operations located between the towns of Fairport and Perinton, Mrs. Colaruotolo also presented the Senator with a gift basket celebrating Perinton's recent classification as "One of the top 100 best places to live in America."
