Since pre-history, people have been looking up at the skies and wondering
what was out there. Well, come to our Star Trek Voyage and I can show you
some
of those things! I'll tell stories about the constellations that we can
find, show you some sights through a telescope, and give you a little
history about our 20" Palomar scale-model telescope that we have here at
Corning Community College. You will also be treated to a planetarium
show, with all its sights and sounds, and then take a short hike back to
the Nature Center for refreshments and more star-gazing. The stars have
been there for billions of years and will remain for billions more; but
while we're here on Earth, we can learn a little something about those
giant, far away objects.
Come take a Star Trek Voyage with us on
Saturday, September 24th at 8:00 pm. Please pre-register by calling the
Nature Center at 962-9012, by Thursday, September 22nd. The cost is a
modest $5 per person. The only thing you need to bring is your
imagination and your curiosity. Hope to see you there!
When: Saturday, September 24th, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm.
Where: Meet at the Corning Community College Planetarium.
