On Saturday and Sunday, June 18th and 19th, from 10 am to 6 pm, McGregor Vineyard Winery is celebrating Father's Day weekend with their Strawberry Delights event. The highlight of the weekend is the celebration of the public release of their 2004 Riesling and 2004 Semi-Dry Riesling. The winery is proud to announce that each of these wines was awarded a gold medal in the first two wine competitions they were entered into (Taster's Guild International and Great Lakes Wine Competition)! This weekend also marks the long awaited debut of their 2004 Gewurztraminer Reserve, a semi- dry wine perfect for summertime! Each of these wines was produced in small batches and is sure to sell out quickly. Guests visiting the winery during the event will be treated to samples of wonderful homemade gourmet foods including: a Baby Spinach Salad with grilled chicken breast and topped with Keuka Lake's own Chef Lerman's Strawberry Dijon Dressing, Lime Cheesecake with fresh strawberries and mint, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, garlic and herb yogurt cheese, and spinach parmesan pesto spread. These food samples pair incredibly well with many of the wines available for tasting and guests are welcome to try wines of their choice from McGregor's extensive wine list (one of the region's most diverse). There is a small tasting fee for the event $1 of which is donated to the Manor Crest Nursing Home in Penn Yan, NY. The McGregors established their vineyard in 1971 and the winery was opened in 1980. The winery remains to this day one of the few estate- grown producers of premium vinifera wines in the Finger Lakes Region.
