Chateau Frank Champagne
Regis Philbin held up a bottle of what New York State Governor George
Pataki called the "best New York sparkling wine" during the show's 15th
annual wedding celebration. Wounded Iraq war veteran, Robert Fleming
graciously accepted the Governor's gift of Chateau Frank Brut during an
emotional ceremony where the army specialist married his Syracuse, NY
sweetheart April Zehr. Honored by Pataki for his "courageous service" the
Kentucky native and his fiancé were chosen among many candidates to be
married February 6th in the television studio transformed into a wedding
palace.
This legendary winery's champagne produced in the classic "methode
champenoise" was served at a governor's dinner at the White House. The
famous Chateau Frank champagne house has produced sparkling wines that
have outscored many California and French champagnes including Bollinger,
Taittinger and Veuve Cliquot. Chateau Frank's Blanc de Blanc was named by
New York Times wine critic Howard Goldberg as the "Single best champagne
style wine made in New York State."
Willy Frank, founder of Chateau Frank, Hammondsport NY is the son of the
late Dr. Konstantin Frank, known as the "father of Vinifera" in the
Eastern United States. The Ukrainian-born visionary pioneered
viticultural methods that have permitted a generation of Eastern wineries
to grow these superb varieties of European grapes. For his timeless
contribution, Dr. Frank was named by Wine Spectator to their Hall of Fame
as one of the top 54 luminaries worldwide to have made a lasting impact
