Glass is everywhere. It is a part of what makes Corning, well Corning. In the Crystal City, glass and the fire arts are celebrated every year with the four-day celebration that is GlassFest in Corning's Gaffer District. This year you can find the streets filled with fire arts demonstrations, vendors, and live music May 25th through May 28th.

Thursday May 25th the Corning Museum of Glass, which happens to be the home of the world's largest glass collection with 45,000 pieces of glass art and artifacts dating back 35 Centuries, kicks off the celebration with a Glass Ribbon cutting Ceremony and a special 2300°: GlassFest.

New this year is the Illuminata Stroll and Reception at 8 pm on May 25th. Join Featured Artist, Julie Conway for a stroll along Market St. while she speaks about each of her pieces in "Illuminata" found in the windows of the many businesses along the street. Following the stroll there will be a reception held at The Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes at 9pm.
